►Skills in focus:
Age 5-7; Students will have a ball each for the majority of the session to maximise muscle memory. We utilize plenty of equipment and have many fun soccer activities that foster different skills to evade and recuse others. Fundamental movement skills are a focus especially weight transfer (agility).
Age 8-11: There is an emphasis on passing and the use of space. Time is given for the development of strategies and tactics to develop. Players rotate positions.
Interpersonal skills:
i) We emphasise encouragement of others and being a positive member of a team irrespective of how good your physical skills are.
ii) Negotiating and sharing roles and responsibilities. Students practice this in various contexts (e.g. taking turns in goal, being a captain, or being a coach).
iii) Dealing with conflicts and disagreements. Students develop their communication skills within teams, with time provided to sit and discuss with peers.
Basic strategies and tactics:
Conditioned games provide plenty of opportunities for students to develop different attacking or defending strategies. Problem solving activities foster inclusion and leadership.
